During this paid appointment at your location, we will spend time on the education phase of your kitchen remodel. You'll have the opportunity to ask those lingering design questions. Then I'll learn about you and your space by taking measurements and photos while you complete the kitchen lifestyle questionnaire. After that, you'll learn about The Cabinet Nerd design process, avaliable services, your design agreement, your online client portal and your kitchen remodel budget calculator. ​Finally, we'll discuss the deposit for your next services and outline moving you to Step 3.- Conceptual Design.

In step three, the foundation for your kitchen design will be established. I'll start with reviewing your questionnaire, followed by hand-sketching your space to better understand it's flow. Then I applying my design process and creative problem-solving skills. To help you better visualize my ideas, I'll use computer-aided design software specialized for cabinetry, to generate your concept design into concrete visuals. Next, you will be contacted to schedule your Presentation Appointment and submit the final payment for Step 3 Concpetual Design. Finally, your concept drawings will be prepared and printed. You keep these copies. During your Presentation Appointment, you will be guided through the concept design in real-time, explaining the rationale behind each element. Armed with a solid starting point, your concept design service is now complete. If you wish to further refine your kitchen design, your next action will be moving on to Step 4- Design Refinement by paying the deposit.

Design Refinement focuses on fine-tuning the details and wrapping up your kitchen design- beautifully. We'll begin by discussing your feedback on the Concept Design from Step 3. Your drawings will be updated based on our conversation and presented in a video walkthrough for your review. This will mark Major Revision 1. (Major Revisions involve significant changes that greatly affect the design, while Minor Revisions consist of smaller adjustments that enhance it.) We'll proceed with two cycles of minor revisions, making tweaks to bring you closer to your vision. Final payment for the Design Refinement Service is due at the end of Minor Revision 2. Once complete, your final drawings will be scheduled for production and digital delivery, and you can share them with your Trade Partners. This wraps up your Refinement Service, equipping you with the information needed to start gathering labor bids. Now that your design is finalized, your next step is Cabinet Selection. You can either handle this independently or seek guidance from The Cabinet Nerd in Step 5.

Our Custom Cabinetry Design Service is tailored to your storage needs and aesthetic preferences so that you can enjoy a space that's as stylish as it is efficent. Together, we will explore and refine cabinetry construction, cabinetry finishes, doorstlye and decorative options like crown moulding and decorative cabinetglass all of which will align with your functional needs, aesthetic tastes, and budget. Initially, you'll receive a color study- presenting concept materials for appliances, cabinetry, flooring, backsplashes, plumbing, lighting fixtures, and decorative hardware. Then we'll move into assessing and planning your cabinetry storage needs. You will recieve an initail storage map. Similar to Step 4's revision cycle, we'll review your feedback and provide one revision of the color study and one revision for the storage solutions. The remaining balance for your Custom Cabintry Design Servcie is due at the end of your Color Study Appointment. This will trigger production of your final drawings. ​Your two concept boards will be transformed into a vibrant 3D rendering and a storage map for you to keep and share with your trade professionals. The delivery of documents will mark the conclusion of your Custom cabinetry Design Service.

If you're uncertain about how to start obtaining estimates for materials, the Designer Liasion service will offer you reassurance. As you enter the implementation phase, you'll be connected to The Cabinet Nerd's NKBA Chapter resources. Jamie will represent you by preparing initial bid requests and coordinating with vendors, keeping you informed throughout the process. You will receive a record of product estimates to compare with your kitchen remodel budget calculator from Step 1. We'll go over the figures together and determine your next steps. Finally, I’ll transfer the ordering process to you and/or your remodeler. Our service will then be complete.
